Anglesey Arts Forum
Redesign of a member website with interactive map – upgrade and repair features, visual refresh of templates, and integrate map with Google Maps API.

The Anglesey Arts Forum is a collective of visual artists based in Anglesey. Their website contains a listing of each member artist which they can edit themselves and where they can display a selection of their work. It also provides information about the annual open studio event held in the spring.
In addition the website has a custom Google Map of all the members participating in the open studio event which integrates with the member listing. The map and website complements the beautifully designed printed catalog and map that is produced every year.
The website had been built quite a while ago on the WordPress platform and was in need of updating: both visually and in terms of functionality: various features needed attention as they were either not working as required or, in the case of the map, completely broken. The project required a total rebuild in order to integrate with the latest versions of software and the new Google Maps API, as well as a visual redesign to complement the catalog. The custom theme was built in order that minimal design work would be required each year to update the design to match the annual catalog visuals.

All content is bilingual Welsh English with the facility for Artists to enter each language via the preferred language plugin. The latest version of the plugin was integrated with the website templates and scripts. This included the translation of the custom Google Map labels.
The Ucheldre marketing team look after the website, and support the artists, helping them to manage their profiles and organising and promoting the events. During the redesign project I worked closely with the team to ensure that everything was set up the way they wanted.
As well as providing ongoing support via phone and email after the launch, I did training sessions with the Ucheldre Team to run through the new features, and a refresher session for some of the artists who needed help to look after their profile content.
